The disputed date application of Tea and TeaOnher was completely compromised by apples, suspected of privacy and auditing irregularities.

According to Appfigures, an app store data provider, Tea and TeaOnHer, dating security applications that triggered social justice, were taken off by Apple from all markets around the world on Tuesday, and the two applications are still available for regular download at Google Play.

Apple confirmed in an interview that Tea Dating Advice and TeaOnher were removed for failing to meet content clearance and user privacy standards. The company disclosed that it had received a large number of complaints and negative evaluations from users, including cases where personal information on minors had been disclosed. The Apple representative stated that the development team had been informed of the problem but had not been corrected. Apple invokes Articles 1.2, 5.1.2 and 5.6 of the Application Audit Guide as the basis for the lower shelf: requires applications that contain user-generated content to be equipped with a whistlescreen and to clean up bad content in a timely manner; prohibits unauthorized use or sharing of personal information; and requires developers to comply with the Code of Conduct to process user feedback.

The Tea series applications have been a source of continued concern since early 2025. Tea’s original targeting of the women’s dating security tool, a Facebook-like “Are We Dating the Same Guy?” private group (where women can share their dating data of men whom they match on the dating network to seek the views of other women who may have dated the same man in the past), encourages users to share personal information about men (especially for dating software users), writes type Yelp evaluations and labels “green flag/red flag” warnings, and is challenged by a large number of male users for violating their privacy and suspected of defamation. During the summer of this year, data leaks occurred in Tea, where hackers obtained over 72,000 photographs, including 3,000 self-identification and identity photographs, as well as 59,000 photographs from posters, comments and private letters. The competition, TeaOnher, then went online and provided the male with a reciprocal blast function, which, according to foreign sources, was reported to be a security hazard, such as a leak of government identity documents and self-photography.

The Appfigures data show that Tea generated $5 million in cumulative downloads of 6.1 million and that TeaOnher downloaded 2.2 million without in-house purchases. It is worth noting that after mainstream application, imitation of application TeaOnher and Him – Overheard has surpassed 354,000 downloads, rising from 90th to 27th in the application list.
