Google Play suddenly got laid because of his sensitive content.

On April 10th, Serena Forge and Team Salvato announced that the classic visual novel, the Heart Beat Literature Department, had now been removed from Google Play’s store because “the game contains sensitive themes”, although the game is still available on iOS, eShop and PS Store platforms. The Department of Heartbeat Literature is the visual novel type “Moral Terror Game” by independent developer Team Salvato in 2017. The game first appeared to be a young love ADV, which tells the story of exchanges between male and female high school students in charge of the Ministry of Literature and four women. However, as the drama moves forward, the game changes dramatically, and the players are subject to a variety of peculiarities behind the relationship, and in part to sensitive subjects. The impact of game experience and high-quality game content are considered one of the best psychological horror games.

Plus!, which contains additional elements such as feeder stories, was released free of charge at the end of the PC in 2017, and was also sold on the PC/PS5/PS4/Nintendo Switch/Xbox Series X|S/Xbox One platform. In addition, the December 2025 game landed iOS/Android, bringing the classic to the moving end. An Android edition of the Department of Heartbeat Literature, published by Serenity Forge in a social media statement on 10 April. According to the company, the game was deleted by Google Play on or about 9 April because of the sensitive topics involved and the violation of the use clause. According to the development team: “The Department of Heartbeat Literature is widely praised for its deep depiction of mental health and has a profound resonance with players around the world, helping them to be heard, understood and no longer feel alone on their journeys. It is most appreciated that we have a real impact by linking others through imaginary power. Every day, it inspires us to continue to create wonderful new works that can really touch others, especially those who need emotional ties.”

According to Google Play help page, there are several criteria for “improper content”. Among them, in the “incidents requiring care”, where sensitive matters such as death, conflict and natural disasters have a significant social/cultural/political impact, the application of a lack of care is not permitted. This is about self-inflicted, suicide and so on, and perhaps it is for this reason that Google audits have found violations. Serena Forge and Dan Salvato, founder of the developer Team Salvato, said that they would do their best to find a solution and try to get the game back on board. Alternative distribution channels for Android equipment are also being explored. It is worth mentioning that the study of mental health in the Department of Heartbeat Literature has been partially controversial. The Jordanian authorities have named on Facebook the Ministry of Heartbeat Literature and similar games, and have sent a reminder to parents that sensitive topics can have a serious psychological impact on children and encourage parents to monitor and follow up. The characteristic of the Department of Heartbeat Literature is that it appears to be an easy and pleasant school relationship, which suddenly turns in the medium term into a creepy story of terror, a sudden turn of its charm. While shop pages and games start with a reminder of impact content, it may be that the expansion of the range of players after landing at the end of last year is now considered problematic in part.
